We have been analysing all the recruitment processes we participate in for some time now and we have come to a clear conclusion: they are completely inefficient for developers, and the technical tests that are carried out are far from providing anything of value to those who complete them. #sorrynotsorry
But, this doesn’t surprise anyone, does it? It’s the reason why we created Rviewer and our own library of tech Challenges, to offer a brutal user experience, and streamline the selection and evaluation processes of companies.
But why are our Challenges cool?
Challenges thought out in detail
We couldn’t start in any other way than analysing the main pains of developers when performing technical tests (here you can see them in detail and with many memes 💁♀️). In short, the list was endless: very long tests, unrelated to the job to which they apply, non-existent feedback… A drama.
And that’s where our Challenges came in: we wanted to come up with something that would completely overhaul the current panorama and provide an answer to all those pains (or a large majority of them). How did we do it? We contacted devs who had made it big in TOP companies (Microsoft, Google or Dynatrace, among others) and we commissioned them to create proper technical tests. Ah, they are our Tech Mentors 😉.
They have been the people responsible for adding the storytelling to the creation of our tests, guiding them to solve specific practical problems and offering complete support from start to finish. Boom!
Challenges created by and for developers
And we’ll show you how.
Once you access the Challenge, you will see a kick-off video made by its creator, in which the objectives of the test will be explained and you will be given some hints on how to solve it. Easy!
When you solve it, you will access a defence area where you can provide explanations and documentation in text, audio or video format to complement and justify your solution. Context always helps 😉
At the end, you will be able to access a video made by the Tech Mentor with the most effective solution for the proposed Challenge. Surprise! You can learn from technical tests!
When you complete the evaluation of your Challenge, you will receive a complete skills report with your strengths and weaknesses broken down visually, and clear and concise feedback from the Tech Mentor. It should be mandatory, shouldn’t it?
And the best part: ifyour Challenge is a real demonstration of talent, it will help you to apply for more than one job offer on our platform, without having to re-evaluate you for another position in the same technology or vertical. It seems like a no-brainer, but no, no one has ever done it before 🙃.
In other words, if you are a Java specialist, you don’t need to take a Challenge every time you are interested in a Java offer. With the test done and passed, you will be able to apply to the vast majority of the offers we handle, without doing another challenge. Cool, huh?
How can I solve an Rviewer Challenge?
There are two ways to do this. The first is through the platform’s own Challenge Library, where you can choose the one you’re most interested in, register and complete it.
The second option is perhaps more interesting: you fill in this form in which you tell us who you are, what your skills are and what you are looking for in terms of work, and we will send you specific offers tailored to what you have indicated. If any of them interest you, you can directly access the Challenge, which will then allow you to move on to the final phase of the selection process. This saves you several steps, it’s like a magic key.
We got tired of conventional technical tests, so we’ve redrawn the whole process so that all parties involved can save time, work and unnecessary effort.
